After decades of collaborating together, since the 70's, Gilberto Cortes and Fernando Duran gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from working together at The Alamo Restaurant in Riverdale, and at Plata Grande/Margarita Maggie's Restaurant Group and other local favorites.
As their friendship flourished so did their success. Together they opened Pachanga Grill in Odenton, in 1999, separately Fernando opened the very successful Broadneck Grill located in Annapolis in 1994 and Gilberto opened the unique El Azteca Restaurant located in Clarksville in 1993. The two amigos, again, joined forces and together operate La Palapa Grill & Cantina in Historic Ellicott City.
Pachanga Cocina Mexicana opened in 2007, with Gilberto's culinary expertise and Fernando's innovative ideas they have created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with exceptional prices and original recipes at Pachanga Cocina Mexicana. In 2010 they were joined by Yolanda Vasquez, a long-time staff member of El Azteca Restaurant. Her skills as Managing Partner have undoubtedly added to the great success of the restaurant.
